Ford Everest Engine Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Ford Everest with a diesel engine is experiencing power loss, a check engine light, and rough running, particularly during acceleration. The initial suspicion is a lean fuel mixture, with the oxygen sensor already checked and found to be fine. Suggestions include examining the fuel injectors, checking for vacuum leaks, and inspecting the throttle body. The issue was ultimately resolved by replacing a faulty injector, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks! I didn't check the throttle body. As for the error code, it points to a lean mixture. Do you think this also was the case for you? What did you do?

Yes, the error code was also indicating a lean mixture. Given the mileage, I'd strongly suspect the fuel injectors themselves. A defective injection valve is the most obvious culprit. I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. Is that an option for you?

Thanks for the advice! It turned out to be a faulty injector. Cost me 515€ to get it fixed. Runs like new now!

Everest owner here! Reduced engine power and a check engine light...sound familiar? I had similar symptoms in my Everest. Did you check for vacuum leaks? Could also be the throttle body. Have you scanned the error code? That would be my first step.
