Ford Explorer Fault Memory Lock Active
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Ford Explorer is experiencing a "Fault memory lock active" error, with a diagnostic message indicating an error stored in the memory. A similar issue was resolved by addressing an undervoltage problem, likely caused by an aging battery. The suggested solution is to have the battery professionally tested and potentially replaced, as low voltage can trigger such fault codes.

That's interesting. The battery is original, so about 5 years old. Was the undervoltage the only cause in your case, or were there other factors involved? Also, what did you do to fix it?

In my case, the undervoltage was the primary cause. Given the age of your battery, I'd suggest getting it professionally tested, but I eventually had to get the issue resolved at a workshop. Expect costs of around 240€.

Thanks for the advice! I'll get the battery tested and probably take it to a workshop as you suggested. Sounds like it could be the car electronics acting up due to low voltage, creating these fault codes.

I had a similar issue with my Explorer. The error code pointed to undervoltage in the vehicle's system. How old is your battery?
