Ford F AC Not Cooling
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Ford F's air conditioning system stopped cooling and wouldn't switch on, possibly due to a defect in one of the valves. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a faulty pressure switch, which could be a potential cause in this case. Testing the pressure switch with a multimeter for continuity was suggested, but ultimately, taking the vehicle to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair was recommended. The repair involved replacing faulty valves and recharging the system, restoring the AC's functionality.

Thanks for the info! Where exactly is the pressure switch located? And is there a way to test it without specialized equipment? I'm comfortable with a multimeter, if that helps.

On my Corsa, it was near the condenser, which is usually in front of the radiator. As for testing, you can check for continuity with a multimeter when the system should be on. If there's no continuity, it's likely the switch is bad. But honestly, AC systems can be tricky, with different pressures and refrigerants. It might be worth taking it to a workshop to avoid messing something else up.

Appreciate the advice! I think I'll take it to a trusted workshop. The repair ended up costing around 1000€, which included replacing a few faulty valves and a recharge. At least it's blowing cold air again!

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. The AC just quit, and it turned out to be a faulty pressure switch. This switch prevents the AC compressor from running when the refrigerant pressure is too low or too high, protecting the system. Could be worth checking out on your Ford F too!
