Yeah, the engine light is on. So, if it was the intake manifold flap on your BMW, what exactly was the problem, and what did you do to fix it? Any chance it's something I could handle myself, or am I looking at a workshop visit?

For me it was a defective switch that controls the intake manifold flap. It's like a stuck valve. The flap wasn't opening and closing properly. Honestly, unless you're comfortable diagnosing electrical issues and have the right tools, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and replace the faulty part. I had to do that.

Alright, thanks for the advice! Sounds like I'm probably facing the same issue. I'll take it to the workshop to get it checked out. They quoted me about 465€ for the repair, suspecting the intake manifold flap control. Hopefully, that fixes it!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series, though the engine was gasoline. Symptoms were almost identical – loss of power, weird noises under acceleration. Turned out to be a faulty intake manifold flap. It's like trying to run a marathon with a blocked nose – just doesn't work right. Do you have an engine light on?
