Ford F Diesel Engine Stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Ford F diesel engine is experiencing stalling at idle, reduced power, and an illuminated check engine light at 26,237 km. The suspected cause is a faulty fuel pressure regulator, potentially due to an error after a fuel filter replacement. The solution involved taking the vehicle to a workshop, where the fuel pressure regulator was confirmed to be defective and subsequently replaced, resolving the issue.

I thought I primed it adequately, but maybe not. The check engine light is on, but the engine misfires only occasionally. What exactly did they do to fix your BMW and did you have error codes relating to the fuel pump?

My mechanic said the fuel pressure regulator was faulty. If the car is losing pressure, it might be this. They replaced the sensor. I would take it to a workshop. It's likely that they can read the exact error code, which should tell you if the fuel pressure is wrong or if there is a problem with the pressure sensor.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right; it was the fuel pressure regulator! Apparently, it was defective. Replacement cost me 45€. Runs like new now.

Sounds rough. I had similar symptoms – check engine light and reduced power – in my old BMW after messing with the fuel system. It turned out to be the fuel pressure sensor throwing codes. Did you properly prime the fuel system after changing the filter? Air in the lines can cause havoc.
