Interesting. I hadn't thought about the intake manifold. How did you figure out it was cracked? Was it obvious, or did you need to do some serious digging? As for the spark plugs and oxygen sensor, they are fairly new, but I will check them again.

With the Renault, I actually heard a hissing sound, like air being sucked in when the engine was running. That was a big clue. You could also try spraying some carb cleaner around the intake manifold while the engine's idling and see if the RPMs change. But honestly, with all those symptoms, especially the jerking and bad fuel economy, I'd say get those injectors checked out by a professional. Could save you a headache in the long run. That's what I ended up doing with the Renault in the end.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a faulty injector. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted, but the engine's running smooth again. Appreciate the help!

Sounds rough! I had a similar thing happen with my old Renault, although it was a petrol engine. Same symptoms though: rough running, check engine light, and drinking fuel like crazy. Did you check your intake manifold? I had a cracked one once that caused similar problems. Also, have you checked the spark plugs and oxygen sensor? They can cause havoc with the fuel mixture if they're not working right.
