Ford F Hissing Sound Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Ford F hybrid exhibited increased fuel consumption, a check engine light, and a loud hissing sound during acceleration. The suspected cause was an air intake leak, possibly due to a degraded intake hose given the vehicle's high mileage. After considering other potential issues like the throttle body and vacuum hose, the problem was confirmed to be a leaking intake hose, which was subsequently repaired.

Thank you for your insight. I'll inspect the throttle body. However, could a leak in the vacuum hose connected to the turbocharger manifest with these symptoms? I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities.

It's hard to say for certain without a proper diagnosis, but it sounds like our cars faced the same issue. With those symptoms, I would recommend taking it to a workshop.

I appreciate the advice. It was an intake hose that was leaking, as suspected. Repair cost was 100€. Thank you for your help!

I had a similar issue with my old 2018 Honda Civic: higher fuel consumption and a hissing sound. Have you checked the throttle body for any visible cracks or loose connections? It might be a simple fix, but I'm not sure.
