Thanks for the suggestion. Can you give me more details on how to check the cable connections properly? What should I look for?

Sure. With my BMW, the connections looked fine at first, but they were a bit corroded underneath. I disconnected them, cleaned them with a wire brush, and made sure they were tight. If that doesn't work, it might be something more serious like an ECU issue, and then you'd probably need to visit a workshop.

Thanks for your help. The battery cable connections were the problem. Cleaning and re-tightening them fixed it. The repair cost 155€.

I had a similar problem with my old 2016 BMW 3 series with a gasoline engine. The symptoms sound familiar. Did you check the battery cable connections? That fixed it for me. Let me know if that helps!
