Ford F Ignition Problems

I'm having a perplexing issue with my 2010 Ford F diesel at 129499 km. The ignition seems to be failing. The engine occasionally refuses to start, but the dashboard lights illuminate. Also, the engine has abruptly shut off while driving, and when it runs, it feels unusually rough. I've checked the ignition fuses and they seem fine. I suspect the ignition switch. Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

I had comparable issues a while back with my Ford F. The key turn did nothing sometimes. Did you check all the fuses? There's usually one specifically for the car electronics related to the ignition. A defective fuse might cause those symptoms. Worth a look before more expensive measures.

When you mention 'all the fuses,' could you be more specific? Are there fuses located in unconventional places that might be easily overlooked? I've checked the main fuse box.

I meant the ones related to the ignition system, including any for the ECU or immobilizer. I found a blown fuse to be the culprit eventually. If you're not 100% confident, it's probably best to visit a reputable workshop. Intermittent electrical problems can be a real headache.

It proved to be a defective fuse, as you suspected. The total was 52€ for a replacement and diagnostic check at the workshop. Thanks!
