Ford F immobilizer issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Ford F with 37,576 km is experiencing an immobilizer issue, causing the engine to either not start or cut out immediately. The problem is suspected to be related to key programming, as indicated by a diagnostic error code. After trying a spare key with no success, it was determined that the key programming was corrupted. The issue was resolved by recoding the keys and immobilizer at a repair shop.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've tried the spare key with the same result, so I guess that eliminates a faulty transponder chip in the primary key. Is there something that can fail that affects both keys simultaneously?

Indeed, that would rather definitively rule out the keys themselves. When my Megane had this problem, it turned out to be some sort of internal failure of the immobilizer system. Taking it to a qualified repair workshop is advisable. They will almost certainly have specialized diagnostic equipment and the expertise to diagnose the root cause.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Took it to a local shop, turned out the key programming was somehow corrupted. They recoded the keys and the immobilizer, and it's running fine now. Cost me 45€ to solve. Cheers!

Greetings. Your issue sounds uncannily like what I went through with my previous Renault Megane. The symptoms you describe, the engine cutting out immediately after ignition, point towards a potential immobilizer issue. Could it be the car can't properly read the transponder chip inside your key and therefore cuts the engine preventing theft? Have you tried using a spare key to see if it eliminates the problem?
