Ford F Overheating

My 2000 Ford F with a gasoline engine is overheating. The check engine light is also on. Mileage is at 228163 km. I suspect a defective radiator fan, maybe a speed sensor issue? Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my F a while back. Overheating and the engine light, the whole shebang. Did you happen to notice any unusual fan noise before it went kaput? Like a grinding or constant high-speed whir?

No unusual noise, just no fan at all. Could a bad speed sensor really kill the whole fan? Seems like a vital component. And what was your eventual repair cost?

Yeah, the speed sensor can definitely be the culprit. It's like a domino effect - the sensor goes, the fan doesn't get the signal, and your engine starts cooking. In my case, it was the sensor. Cost me around 250€ to get it sorted at the workshop. Save yourself some pain and get it checked.

Thanks for the insight. Sounds like the workshop is the next stop. I will post again when the bill arrives and confirm the fix.
