Ford F rough start poor fuel economy

My 2008 Ford F with a gasoline engine is giving me fits! It's got 153861 km on the clock. Starts rough, drinks fuel like crazy, feels weak, idles like it's got the hiccups, and even stalls sometimes. Suspect it might be a fuel injection issue?

Summary of the thread

A 2008 Ford F with a gasoline engine is experiencing rough starts, poor fuel economy, weak performance, erratic idling, and occasional stalling. The suspected cause is a fuel injection issue, specifically clogged injectors. A workshop diagnosis confirmed a defective injection nozzle due to clogging, with cleaning or replacement suggested as the solution.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old 2012 Opel Astra. Symptoms were almost identical - rough start, poor fuel economy, and the occasional stall. In my case, it turned out to be clogged fuel injectors. Have you checked for that?

Clogged injectors, huh? How did you figure that out? And what did you do about it? I'm not really sure how to check for that myself...

Well, I initially suspected a vacuum leak, but a mechanic friend suggested checking the injectors. It's tricky to diagnose without proper equipment. Best bet is to take it to a workshop; they can run diagnostic tests to confirm. If it is the injectors, cleaning or replacement is usually the solution.

Cheers! Dropped it at the shop; they confirmed it's a defective injection nozzle, likely due to clogging. Quoted me 515€ for the repair. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
