Ford Falcon Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Ford Falcon is experiencing a mixture preparation error, indicated by a check engine light, reduced engine power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling at idle. The suspected cause is a defective injector valve, but other potential causes include issues with the oxygen sensor, MAF sensor, or a vacuum leak around the intake manifold. The suggested solution is to have the injector and other components diagnosed at a workshop to confirm the exact cause.

Thanks for the response. I haven't checked the oxygen sensor or MAF sensor yet, but I'll add those to the list. Did you experience the same stalling issue at idle specifically? And was it a faulty injector in your case?

Yes, the stalling at idle was definitely part of the problem. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty injector, as I recall. It might be wise to get it checked by a workshop; the repair cost me around 515€.

Appreciate the confirmation. Based on your experience, I'll proceed with injector diagnosis at a workshop. Thanks for the help!

That sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Falcon – though I can't remember the exact year of mine. Have you checked the oxygen sensor or MAF sensor? A rich mixture could also point to a vacuum leak around the intake manifold.
