Ford Flex Battery Discharge

My 2008 Ford Flex with a gasoline engine has a heavy battery discharge. I'm seeing an error message on the speedometer, weak/flickering lights, and a stored error. The battery is also weak when starting. Could a bad battery sensor cause this?

A defective battery sensor could be contributing. But other things cause battery drain. Have you checked the battery terminals? A parasitic draw could also drain the battery. What's the specific error code?

Terminals are clean and tight. I haven't checked for a parasitic draw. Could a parasitic draw be intermittent and hard to find? How do I identify one?

Yes, parasitic draws can be intermittent, making it harder. Finding the source means disconnecting circuits to isolate it, which needs special equipment and expertise. Given the symptoms, I'd suggest a workshop for electrical diagnostics.

I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a defective battery sensor. Total cost was 315€. Thanks for the advice.
