Thanks, that's helpful. So, the ignition coil – is that difficult to check? I am not a total newbie when it comes to engines, but I need a little bit more technical detail to understand if I can do it myself.

Alright, listen carefully. An ignition coil failure can stem from several things, including shorts, open circuits, internal insulation breakdown, or even moisture intrusion. However, without diagnostic tools, you’re pretty much troubleshooting blind. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed. Could save you from replacing parts unnecessarily.

I appreciate the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were right on the money. Turns out it was indeed linked to a fuse defective. The final repair cost was 52€. Thanks again!

Hey, sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Ford Flex (don’t remember the year). Those symptoms – engine not starting, randomly shutting off – could be a dodgy ignition coil. This part provides the spark to ignite the fuel. Have you looked into that?
