Thanks for the ideas. I've thought about the fuel injectors, but haven't looked at the other things you mentioned. When you had the problem, did the error codes point directly to the fuel injectors, or were there other codes too?

The error codes showed a misfire in a specific cylinder, which turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. Given your symptoms, I'd suggest taking your Flex to a trusted mechanic for a thorough inspection to find the exact cause. My repair cost 515€.

I had similar issues on my Ford Flex. Have you checked the fuel injectors? A bad injector can cause misfires. Another possibility is the fuel pump not delivering enough fuel. Spark plugs and ignition coils are also worth checking. Have you read the error codes?
