Ford Flex Fault Memory Lock Active
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Ford Flex is displaying a "fault memory lock active" error, with diagnostics indicating undervoltage as the potential cause. The issue may stem from a voltage drop affecting the vehicle's sensitive computer systems. Suggested solutions include checking the battery and alternator, and if necessary, consulting a workshop for a thorough diagnostic and ECU check. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by addressing the voltage drop, costing 240€ to clear the fault and verify the system.

Voltage seems okay, but I'll double-check. Was the Opel's error message also related to undervoltage or a locked memory?

The error was different, but the root cause was low voltage. The computer systems in these cars are super sensitive. If you've already checked the usual suspects (battery, alternator), then it might be worth taking it to a workshop for proper diagnostics. They can check the ECU itself.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. It turned out to be exactly that - a glitch caused by a voltage drop. Cost me 240€ to clear the fault and check the system.

Huh, that's odd. I had something similar with my old Opel Corsa. The ECU was throwing codes because the battery was on its way out. Have you checked your battery's voltage?
