Thanks, I checked the intake system for leaks but didn't find any. The air filter was replaced about 15000 km ago. Were your symptoms exactly the same, and did replacing the MAF sensor fix it?

Yes, the symptoms were nearly identical: higher fuel consumption, rough idling, and the check engine light. Replacing the MAF sensor helped, but the problem needed a diagnostic at a good shop. They confirmed the MAF sensor was faulty and affecting engine performance. I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional.

I appreciate the advice. I will schedule a mechanic appointment for a diagnosis and maybe a MAF sensor replacement. The estimated repair cost is 365€. Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

I had similar issues with my Flex. Have you checked for air leaks in the intake system? A bad MAF sensor can cause those symptoms, but check the easy stuff first. When did you last change your air filter?
