Ford Flex uneven running

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2016 Ford Flex (gasoline engine). It has 133285 km on it and recently started running unevenly. The check engine light is on, and the error memory has a stored code. It also feels like the car is jerking when I accelerate. Could this be spark plugs or maybe even the air filter?

I had a similar issue with my Flex. Does it feel like a rough idle, almost like it wants to stall? If so, it could be related to the exhaust system. A leak can cause all sorts of weird running issues.

Rough idle, yeah that's a good way to describe it! How did you figure out it was the exhaust system? And what does the exhaust system have to do with a rough idle?

The computer adjusts the fuel mixture based on the oxygen sensors in the exhaust. If there's a leak, it throws off the readings and the engine doesn't get the right amount of fuel. I took mine to a workshop; they found a small crack in the exhaust manifold. I'd suggest doing the same.

Thanks! Took your advice and brought it in. Turned out to be a leak in the exhaust system, just like you said. Cost me 265€ to repair. Appreciate the help!
