Ford Flex Weak Start Battery Sensor

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Ford Flex (gasoline engine). Lately, it's been struggling to start, like the battery is super weak. And I've noticed the lights sometimes flicker, which is super annoying. I've checked the battery terminals, and they seem clean. Could this be a bad battery sensor messing with the whole system? My Flex has 177697 km on it, so it's not exactly new.

Summary of the thread

The 2018 Ford Flex is experiencing weak starts and flickering lights, which may be attributed to a faulty battery sensor. Despite clean battery terminals, these symptoms suggest the sensor could be disrupting the electrical system. A professional diagnosis confirmed the battery sensor as the issue, leading to a repair solution.

Sounds familiar. I had similar problems with my old Renault Megane. Weak starts and the lights dimming. Have you checked the battery voltage?

Yeah, I thought about checking the voltage, but where exactly is the battery sensor located, and what voltage readings should I be looking for to confirm it's the sensor that's faulty?

Honestly, I never got that far with the voltage checks on the Megane. The symptoms were enough for me to suspect the sensor. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly.

You were right! Took my Flex to the shop, and they confirmed it's the battery sensor. Repair cost is around 315€ Thanks for the advice!
