Ford Focus ABS Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Ford Focus Electric is experiencing intermittent ABS light activation and traction issues, suggesting a malfunction in the ABS system. Initial checks of the fuses did not resolve the problem. It is recommended to use an OBD2 scanner to check for error codes, which could indicate issues with the ABS module or its wiring. If the problem persists, professional diagnosis and repair are advised, potentially costing around 1000€.

Thanks! The odometer seems fine. How do I check for those error codes? I'm not great with car stuff, so any help is appreciated before I take it to a shop.

If the odometer's working, it might not be the wheel speed sensors. Could be the ABS module or its wiring. You'll need an OBD2 scanner, it plugs in under the steering wheel. It should show error codes. If it says ABS module or speed signal, that control unit might be bad. Given the ABS issues, I'd see a professional. Repairs might be around 1000€.

Thanks for the explanation and advice. I'll get it checked out at a shop. Knowing the possible cause and cost helps. Thanks again!

That sounds frustrating. When the ABS light comes on, does the odometer or speedometer act weird? That might tell you which sensor or part is acting up. Also, did any error codes pop up? A cheap OBD2 reader can check if the car stored something.
