Ford Focus Battery Alarm Defective
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Ford Focus displayed a 'battery alarm system defective' warning, with the alarm being non-functional and an error stored in the memory. A weak or discharged battery was suspected as a potential cause. It was suggested to perform a system diagnosis to confirm the battery's condition. Ultimately, a workshop confirmed the issue was due to a discharged battery, leading to its replacement.

Did you perform the system diagnosis yourself, or did a workshop do it? What tools were used? Was the battery problem visually noticeable, or only detectable via diagnostics? Trying to get a clearer picture before replacing the battery.

Given the alarm system's involvement, I wouldn't try fixing it yourself. My battery issue wasn't visually noticeable, just error messages. I recommend a workshop for an accurate diagnosis.

The workshop confirmed a discharged battery due to age. Repair cost 330€. Thanks for confirming my suspicions and pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar issue last year on my Focus. Was the battery signal acting strangely? Check the battery status with a system diagnosis to rule out other issues. The error stored in the error memory can give you a clue.
