Ford Focus tire pressure warning

Hi, I have a 2005 Ford Focus with a diesel engine and I'm getting a tire pressure warning. The display says "Tire pressure too low" and there's an error message in the speedometer. I checked the tire pressure with a gauge and it seems fine. The error is also stored in the error memory. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Ford Focus owner is experiencing a persistent tire pressure warning despite the tire pressure appearing normal. The issue may be due to a fault in the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors, potentially caused by a depleted sensor battery. It is recommended to visit a workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair.

I had a similar issue with my Focus. Have you checked the TPMS sensors? It could be a sensor fault.

TPMS? What exactly should I be looking for? How to check for a sensor fault?

Yes, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors. In my case, the sensor battery was empty. You can't really check it yourself without the proper tools. It's best to go to a workshop; they can diagnose it properly. I ended up paying 280€ for the repair.

Thanks for the info! I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the sensors.
