I have checked the oil, and it appears darker than usual. As for the filter, I replaced it during the last oil change. I do not know that whether is has oil sludge. Could oil contamination really cause such a significant drop in oil pressure?

Yes, excessively contaminated oil can indeed cause those problems due its viscosity. Given the oil's colour and the warning lights, professional diagnostics are advisable before any further damage occurs. Therefore I would recommend you to visit any car workshop.

I appreciate the advice. It seems prudent to have the vehicle inspected by a professional. I took it to the shop as you told me to, and you were correct. The mechanic confirmed the oil was contaminated because the maintenance interval exceeded. Cost me 165€, but it was worth it!

I have a Fusion as well and experienced similar symptoms. What color is the oil when you check the dipstick? Also, have you recently changed the oil filter, or could a clogged filter be contributing to low oil pressure? It is possible there is any oil sludge.
