Thanks. I did a visual inspection of the wiring harness but didn't see anything obvious. I didn't do a continuity test, though. Could a partial wiring failure cause these symptoms?

Honestly, given the symptoms, it's probably the sensor itself. While you could chase wiring issues, it might be worth getting it checked by a professional.
