Ford G6 Idle Speed Issue

My 2008 Ford G6 with a gasoline engine has a check engine light and stalls when idling around 69501 km. Error code points to idle speed. I suspect a faulty idle air control valve and contaminated intake. Anyone seen this?

I had a similar problem with my 2012 Opel Astra diesel. Your symptoms sound familiar. Did you check the air intake for obstructions or dirt? That was my issue.

Thanks. What should I look for in the air intake? Was the contamination obvious, or did you need special tools?

My intake was visibly dirty, coated with grime restricting airflow. I'd suggest a close look. I took mine to a shop, and they confirmed it. Might be best for you too.

Thanks for the advice. A mechanic checked my car and confirmed a faulty idle air control valve and intake contamination. Repair cost was 425€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
