My intake was visibly dirty, coated with grime restricting airflow. I'd suggest a close look. I took mine to a shop, and they confirmed it. Might be best for you too.

Thanks for the advice. A mechanic checked my car and confirmed a faulty idle air control valve and intake contamination. Repair cost was 425€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I had a similar problem with my 2012 Opel Astra diesel. Your symptoms sound familiar. Did you check the air intake for obstructions or dirt? That was my issue.
