Ford G6 Intake Air Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Ford G6 experienced issues with the check engine light, reduced engine power, and rough running at 91,685 kilometers. A diagnostic tool identified the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor as the potential cause. A similar past experience confirmed that a faulty IAT sensor could indeed lead to these symptoms. Replacing the defective sensor resolved the issues, restoring the car's performance.

Yes, the symptoms seem very similar! The diagnostic tool gave a code directly related to the intake air temperature sensor, pointing to a potential malfunction or readings outside the normal range. Was your experience as clear in identifying the sensor as the problem?

Yes, my diagnostic pointed directly to the IAT sensor as well. Considering your symptoms and the diagnostic confirmation, it sounds like a failing sensor. With that mileage I’d say the sensor is likely the problem. I suggest a workshop visit for a confirmation and potential replacement.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems like I was right but your advice gave me more confidence. Just got the car back from the workshop, and you were spot on! The sensor was indeed defective. Repair cost was 155€ including the new sensor and labor. Now the car runs like new again!

I had a similar issue with my G6, although I don't recall the exact mileage. Were the symptoms identical? Did the diagnostic tool specifically point to the intake air temperature sensor, or was it a more generic code?
