Yes, fuel economy is abysmal. If it was indeed the pump, how much did you end up paying? Where did you get it fixed?

Whoa, abysmal fuel economy seals the deal then. I'm about 90% sure it is the high-pressure pump. Unfortunately I can't tell you the exact numbers, as I remember being too shocked to pay attention and tried to erase the incident from my memory. But you should prepare yourself for pain my friend. I took mine to a trustworthy workshop. Don't cheap out on fuel injection repairs, it's like open-heart surgery for your engine!

That's incredibly helpful. I appreciate the head's up on the cost. Seems like that's exactly the problem. I took it to my mechanic and they confirmed it – defective fuel volume regulator, likely caused by a dying high-pressure pump. Repair came out to 1510€. Ouch!

Sounds familiar! I have a G6 too, and I had similar symptoms last year – the stalling, especially, was awful. Have you noticed any decrease in fuel efficiency? I felt like I was suddenly filling up at the gas station every other day. Like pouring money directly into a black hole! It could definitely be your fuel pump, but it's always good to rule other things out too. Let me know what happens!
