Ford Galaxy exhaust back pressure sensor issue

I have a 2021 Ford Galaxy hybrid with 206331 kilometers. A warning light is on, and it's emitting smoke during acceleration. Diagnostics suggest a bad exhaust back pressure sensor. Has anyone else had this?

Hey, I drive a Ford Galaxy too! I had something similar happen a while back. Is the car's performance down too? Mine felt like it was trying to run through treacle. It sounds like it could be the same thing.

Indeed, the engine's performance has been noticeably compromised, similar to what you described. Could you elaborate on the issue you encountered? Were the symptoms identical, and what actions did you take to fix it?

Yeah, sounds like the same problem. I'm no mechanic, but I'd bet on that sensor. Best to get it checked at a workshop, they'll sort it quickly.

I appreciate your insights. Following a diagnostic evaluation, the exhaust back pressure sensor was indeed identified as defective and replaced at a cost of 245€. The issue is now resolved. Thank you for your assistance.
