Nothing done recently. Where exactly should I be looking for the defective connection?

Without pulling codes, it's tough to say exactly. Could be under the seat, in the steering column, or even the airbag ECU itself. Better take it to a workshop for diagnosis.

Thanks. As suspected, a defective plug connection. Repair cost was 95€

Yeah, could be a bad clock spring. Any recent work done on the steering or column?
