Implausible programming, you say? How did you figure that out? I'm not sure what caused it, but the symptoms seem to point to something software-related. Did your car throw any specific codes?

Well, after troubleshooting for a while, the mechanic told me that the car needed a recalibration, which fixed all the problems. I would definitely say that you should go to the workshop; it will probably be best if the problem is what I had.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a programming issue with the ECU. Recalibration of the control unit resolved it. The repair cost was 240€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating. I had something similar happen with my old BMW a few years back. The whole system went haywire. Was the programming of the control unit implausible, like a bad flash or something?
