Ford GT fuel flap error

Hey, my 2004 Ford GT (gasoline) has a fuel flap issue. Keeps throwing an error, and I can't open the thing. Mileage is at 66215 km. Now some functions are unavailable. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2004 Ford GT is experiencing a fuel flap error, preventing it from opening and causing some functions to be unavailable. The issue may be due to a malfunctioning electric actuator or linkage. A diagnostic evaluation at a workshop is recommended to identify and fix the problem. The issue was confirmed to be with the linkage and was resolved after a visit to the shop.

Indeed. A similar problem was observed on a 2018 BMW 4 series. The locking mechanism malfunctioned, rendering the fuel filler flap inoperable. Was there any recent mechanical work performed on the vehicle in proximity to the fuel filler area?

Nope, no recent work around there. Just started happening out of the blue. Could it be the release mechanism itself?

Given the absence of recent interventions and the observed symptoms, it is plausible that the electric actuator or associated linkage, if present in your model, has become defective. A diagnostic evaluation at an authorized workshop is advisable to ascertain the precise cause and determine the appropriate remedial action. Expect repair costs in the neighborhood of 210€.

Thanks. Looks like a trip to the shop is in order. Will post what they find. Turns out it was indeed the linkage. Sorted!
