Ford GT knock sensor issue

My 2004 Ford GT (gasoline) is throwing a check engine light. Mileage is 105k km. Getting higher fuel consumption and a bit of uneven idling. Suspect the knock sensor. Wiring and plug look a bit suss. Anyone seen this before?

Hey, I had a similar issue on my Ford Focus, though not quite as fancy as a GT! The symptoms sound familiar. Was the fuel efficiency drop sudden, or gradual? Have you checked for any obvious damage to the sensor itself?

Efficiency dropped off a cliff. Sensor itself looks okay, but the connector looks a bit corroded. Is that what you experienced?

Yep, corroded connector was exactly the culprit! Symptoms are bang-on. Cleaned it up temporarily, but the issue returned soon after. Ended up getting the whole thing replaced at the shop. Might be worth a look for you too.

Cheers. Sounds like the way to go. Quoted 95€ for a replacement, so I'll book it in. Appreciate the insight.
