Ford GT NOx Sensor Failure

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2017 Ford GT, gasoline engine, at 39927 km. The check engine light illuminated, and the error memory indicates a NOx sensor failure. Additionally, there seems to be a slight exhaust leak. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. Has anyone encountered something similar?

I had a comparable issue on my GT; these emission sensors are quite finicky. The check engine light, the stored error - it all sounds very familiar! Before diving too deep, have you thoroughly inspected the sensor's connections? Specifically, look for any signs of corrosion, damage to the wiring harness, or loose pins within the connector. The slightest disruption there can wreak havoc.

Thanks for the quick response. I've visually inspected the connections and didn't notice anything obvious. However, could you elaborate on which specific connector points or areas were problematic in your case? Any particular angles or hidden spots I should focus on?

Certainly. While a visual inspection is a good starting point, the devil is often in the details. In my situation, the problem stemmed from a seemingly insignificant amount of corrosion on the pins inside the connector itself and a hairline fracture in the cable's isolation. It was so small it was barely noticeable! Given the error code and exhaust leak, I'd wager you're facing something similar. Given the risk, your best bet is to take it to the local shop to have the sensor changed.

Appreciate the detailed explanation. I'll proceed with a replacement with a visit to the workshop and a NOx sensor replacement for 95€. Thanks again!
