Ford GT Power Loss Lean Condition

I'm having some issues with my 2017 Ford GT (gasoline engine). It's got about 38k kilometers on it. Recently, I've noticed a significant loss of power, and the check engine light is now illuminated. The engine runs rough, and I'm experiencing jerking during acceleration. I scanned for codes and it's indicating a lean condition. I've checked for obvious vacuum leaks and cleaned the mass air flow sensor, but no luck. Could a faulty injection valve or injector be the culprit? Any thoughts before I start tearing into it?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Ford GT experienced significant power loss, rough engine performance, and a lean condition code. Initial checks for vacuum leaks and cleaning the mass air flow sensor did not resolve the issue. Suggestions included inspecting the EGR valve, which had resolved similar symptoms in another case. Ultimately, a defective fuel injector was identified and replaced by a certified workshop, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar problem with my GT. Not sure if it's the same year, but it also ran lean. Did you check the EGR valve? That was my issue. Worth a look before you go digging deeper.

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't considered the EGR valve specifically. When you say similar problem, were your symptoms the same (reduced power, rough running, etc.)? And did your check engine light also point towards a lean condition?

Yeah, the symptoms were almost exactly the same. Lean code, loss of power, and it ran like crap. Honestly, I got frustrated and took it to a shop. They replaced the EGR and it fixed everything. Might be worth a shot if you're not seeing anything obvious elsewhere. It's a pain to get to, anyway.

Thanks! After your message, I decided to throw in the towel and took the GT to a certified workshop. It turned out that one of the fuel injectors was indeed defective. They replaced it, did some necessary diagnostic work, and the total bill came to 515€. She is now running smooth again.
