Ford GT Rear Window Heating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Ford GT owner reported an issue with the rear window heating not working and an error related to it. Another person suggested checking the battery, as a heavily discharged or defective battery can cause electrical problems. After checking, the owner found the battery was indeed discharged, replaced it, and resolved the heating issue.

Interesting. I hadn't considered the battery. It starts fine, but maybe it's not holding a charge as well as it should. Did you have similar symptoms with the windshield heating too? How did you resolve it?

Yes, the windshield heating was also affected. Eventually, it turned out that the discharged battery caused the errors. I'd recommend getting it checked professionally; a workshop should be able to diagnose it properly. Could save you a lot of time and potential headaches.

Thanks for the tip! I had the battery checked, and you were spot on. It was heavily discharged, causing the rear window heating issue. Replaced it and everything is working as it should. Repair cost me 290€. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my GT's rear window demister. Have you checked the battery recently? A heavily discharged or defective battery can sometimes cause weird electrical gremlins. It might be worth investigating that before digging deeper into the wiring or heating element itself.
