Ford GT Transmission Issues

Yeah, I meant to mention that. How did you check that, exactly? I couldn't find a dipstick anywhere obvious, and I don't want to start pulling random plugs and making things worse. Was it a pain to get to?

Okay, so yeah, no dipstick, unfortunately! Mine was low from the factory. You gotta get under the car; there's a fill plug on the side of the transmission. Honestly, unless you're super comfortable working on cars, I'd say take it to a shop. It's a pain to get to, and you need a special tool to fill it correctly. Plus, if it IS low, you gotta figure out why... could be a leak somewhere. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks, man, that's exactly what I needed to hear. I was hoping it was something simple, but sounds like a trip to the shop is in order. You saved me a bunch of time and probably some busted knuckles, so I appreciate it. It turns out it was the transmission oil temperature sensor and the low gearbox oil level. They charged me 365€ for the repair.

Dude, that SUCKS! I had something similar happen in my GT. Not sure if it's the same year, but the symptoms sound spot on. Mine was shifting like a tractor. Did you check the transmission fluid level? That's the first thing they told me to look at.
