Ford Ikon Check Engine Light and Smoke

My 2001 Ford Ikon (gasoline engine) has 62591 kilometers. The check engine light is on, engine power is reduced, and it smokes during acceleration. I suspect the crankcase ventilation valve. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

Sounds like a blocked or leaking crankcase valve. Is it throwing any codes? And have you checked for any obvious air leaks around the engine?

How do I check for air leaks in the engine? I have some mechanical aptitude but need guidance for a thorough check.

Honestly, without the right tools or experience, chasing air leaks can be a pain. If the check engine light is on and you're seeing smoke, it's probably best to just take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and replace that crankcase valve if that's the issue.

I'll take it to a qualified technician for a diagnostic evaluation and repair of the crankcase ventilation issue. The estimated repair cost is 360€.
