Ford Ikon clutch switch fault

Guys, I'm seriously losing it here! My 2012 Ford Ikon, gasoline engine, is giving me grief. It's got almost 200k km on the clock. The error memory keeps throwing a fault, the gear selection display is dead, cruise control is a no-go, and sometimes it just plain REFUSES to start! I'm thinking it's something with the clutch pedal switch – maybe a dodgy cable or plug? Anyone else seen this madness?

Greetings. Your described symptoms suggest a potential fault within the clutch pedal switch circuit. I recall encountering a similar issue on a 2018 Opel Insignia, where a defective clutch switch manifested through intermittent starting problems and cruise control failure. Have you inspected the switch itself for any physical damage, or tested the continuity of the wiring harness leading to it?

Continuity? I gave the wires a wiggle and they looked okay. Didn't see any obvious breaks. Where exactly should I be sticking my multimeter probes to check this thing properly?

While a visual inspection is a prudent first step, a comprehensive continuity test is necessary to ascertain the integrity of the circuit. Considering your expertise level, I recommend consulting a qualified technician for precise diagnostic procedures. Given the symptoms and potential component failure, repair costs might reach approximately 95€. It is advisable to have a professional assess the fault to mitigate potential complications.

Right, bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. You nailed it! Bad clutch switch, just like you said. New switch and all the problems are gone. Thanks for the help!
