What specific symptoms did you have, and what was the gear oil like when you checked? Any unusual noises like grinding?

Yeah, it was grinding a bit, especially going into third. The oil was dark and had metal shavings in it. Honestly, just get it checked by a workshop. Could save you a lot of trouble.

I took it to a workshop based on your advice. They confirmed defective gears in the transfer case. The repair was about 330€ including parts and labor. Thanks!

Hey, I had something similar with my Ikon. Gearbox was acting up, shifting rough. Did you check the transfer fluid? Mine was low and looked pretty nasty. Might be worth a look before you dive into the gears.
