Ford Ikon NOx Error and Exhaust Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Ford Ikon with a gasoline engine and 169,150 km displayed a check engine light due to a NOx storage catalyst aging error and an exhaust leak. The exhaust leak was identified as a potential cause of the error. It was suggested to inspect common leak points like the exhaust manifold gasket and flex pipe, as these can affect NOx readings and fuel efficiency. The issue was confirmed to be an exhaust system leak, which was repaired.

Thanks. Were your symptoms the same, and did you see a drop in fuel efficiency before fixing it?

Symptoms were the same. Fuel efficiency took a hit. Get it checked professionally; exhaust leaks can be tricky.

Understood. It was an exhaust system leak, like we thought. Cost 265€ to repair. Thanks for your help.

I had a similar issue with my Ikon. Check the exhaust manifold gasket and the flex pipe. Those are common leak points that can throw off the NOx readings.
