Ford Ka EGR Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Ford Ka with a diesel engine is experiencing power loss, a check engine light, excessive smoke during acceleration, rough running, increased fuel consumption, jerking, and hissing noises. These symptoms suggest a potential issue with the EGR valve, possibly causing a vacuum leak and affecting emissions. Replacing the EGR valve resolved the problem, eliminating all symptoms.

Yeah, the idle speed's fluctuating, feels unstable sometimes. Can you tell me more about what happened with yours? Same symptoms? What fixed it?

Yep, pretty much the same. Given the mileage and age, I'd get it checked by a mechanic. A bad EGR valve can cause more problems. Replacing the valve was the only real fix for me.

Thanks, that confirms what I thought. Had the EGR valve replaced, cost 355€. Running great now, all the symptoms are gone.

I have a Ka as well, and your symptoms align closely with an EGR valve issue I faced some time ago. Did you notice any changes in the engine's idle speed or stability?
