Ford Ka Keyless Access Fault
Summary of the thread
The keyless access on a 2015 Ford Ka diesel stopped working, with an error indicating a fault. The suspected cause was an issue with the door handle electronics. A suggestion was made to check the cable and plug connections to the door handle, as a similar issue was resolved by addressing a corroded connector. Upon inspection by a workshop, it was confirmed that a defective plug connection was the cause, and the issue was resolved.

Thank you for your input. Could you elaborate on where exactly I should be looking for this connector? Is it easily accessible, or will I need to disassemble the door panel?

Based on my prior experience, you will most likely need to remove the door panel to get access to the wiring and connectors for the door handle. I would advise you to proceed cautiously or seek assistance from a qualified workshop. I do not want you to damage anything.

I appreciate the detailed advice. I followed your recommendation and took it to a local workshop. They confirmed it was indeed a defective plug connection, as you suspected. The total cost was 95€ to resolve. Thank you for your assistance.

Sounds like a sensor issue within the door handle itself. I had something similar happen on my old Mondeo; turned out to be a corroded connector. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the door handle? That would be my first port of call before assuming the entire unit is faulty.
