Ford Ka Stalling Issue

I'm having trouble with my 2017 Ford Ka, gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the error code points to the idle air control (IAC) valve. The engine keeps stalling, especially at idle. I've tried cleaning the throttle body, but it didn't help much. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had similar stalling issues with my Ka, though I didn't scan for codes initially. Have you checked the air intake system? A dirty or clogged air intake can mess with the IAC valve and cause stalling.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say air intake, do you mean just the air filter, or is there something else I should be looking at? I did replace the air filter recently, but maybe there's more to it.

Yeah, not just the filter. The whole intake manifold can get gunked up, especially with these engines. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the problem and clean or replace the IAC valve if needed.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were spot on. Turns out the intake was heavily contaminated and the IAC valve was faulty. They cleaned the intake and replaced the valve. Cost me about 425€, but at least the stalling is gone!
