Ford Ka Start Stop Problem

My 2013 Ford Ka diesel's start-stop has stopped working. There's a warning light and an error stored. Plus, the engine sometimes shuts off unexpectedly. Could a bad battery be the cause?

I had a similar issue with my Ka. The engine stalling is a real pain. Have you checked the battery's voltage? That start-stop system is super sensitive to voltage drops. Could also be the starter motor struggling.

Could you elaborate on the symptoms you experienced? Did you also encounter a warning light, and did the engine only stall when the start-stop system was active?

Yep, warning light was on constantly. And the stalling only happened with the eco mode active. I'd get it checked at a workshop. It's probably the battery, but better safe than sorry.

I appreciate the advice. I will schedule an appointment with a workshop to have the battery and starter motor assessed. The estimated repair cost is 290€. Thank you again for your insights.
