Ford Ka Transmission Light Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Ford Ka diesel with 130,438 km is experiencing issues with the transmission indicator and check engine lights, along with rough gear changes and grinding noises. The problem is linked to an error related to radiator oil pressure, suggesting a possible defective cable or plug connection. A similar case was resolved by addressing a faulty connection to the coolant pressure sensor, which was confirmed and repaired at a workshop.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yes, that's correct. I was thinking about leak detection as well, maybe there's a coolant leak somewhere. Was that the coolant pressure sensor the problem in your case as well? Did you try any radiator repair or leak detection?

Okay, so yes, it turned out to be a faulty sensor. I went to a local workshop, as I'm not mechanically inclined to work on such a complex system. They ran some tests and quickly identified the issue. Because of what you mentioned, I'd suggest visiting a workshop to get it diagnosed properly. It will probably be a quick fix for them.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was a faulty connection to the pressure sensor, just like the error code suggested. Repair cost was only 95€. Appreciate the help!

Hello there, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble! I also have a Ford Ka, though I can't remember the year right now. I had a similar issue with the transmission light and rough shifting a while ago. By "radiator oil pressure" do you mean the sensor that checks the pressure of the coolant going through the radiator? Because a bad coolant pressure can cause havoc and make the car think there is something wrong with the transmission
