Hey, I can actually speak to that. I have a similar car to yours - a 2015 Ford Focus and had a similar problem a while ago. My remote control key no longer worked and the warning light was on continuously. However, it had nothing to do with the key battery, but with the central locking control unit. This seems to be a common problem. So the control unit had to be replaced. Was it a serious problem? Well, not really. It's annoying when you don't know what's wrong at first, but once the fault was identified, it was quickly fixed - within a day the thing was replaced and everything was running smoothly again.
