Ford Taurus Low Coolant
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Taurus owner reported a check engine light indicating low coolant levels. Possible causes include a small coolant leak or air pockets in the system. Suggested solutions involve checking for leaks around the water pump and hoses and considering a professional inspection, such as a pressure test, to diagnose and resolve the issue.

I haven't noticed any visible leaks. Where exactly should I be looking for these coolant leaks? Is it possible that it's something more serious, like the head gasket?

Well, mine wasn't obvious either. I'd check around the water pump and hoses first. Honestly, with those symptoms, it might be worth getting it checked professionally. I ended up spending around 52€ for a pressure test and a new hose at the workshop.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take a closer look, but it seems best to get it checked by a professional. I appreciate the insight.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Taurus – though I can't recall the exact year. It turned out to be a small coolant leak. Have you checked for any visible leaks around the engine or radiator? Could also be air pockets in the system.
