Fortuner cruise control malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Toyota Fortuner is experiencing a cruise control malfunction with an error code stored but no check engine light. The owner checked the fuses and wiring around the pedal switch and steering wheel but couldn't identify the issue. A similar case was resolved by taking the vehicle to a workshop, suggesting a professional diagnostic check might be necessary to pinpoint the fault, potentially involving components like the pedal switch or clock spring.

No, there was no check engine light, just the stored error code for the cruise control. Did you also only have an error stored, and no check engine light? Do you remember if the error code pointed to a specific component, like a speed sensor or the clock spring?

Yeah, no check engine light for me either. I can't remember exactly what the error code was... I'm not that technical. I just took it to a workshop, and they sorted it. Might be best to get yours checked too.

Understood. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the advice and will take it to the workshop for a diagnostic check. Hopefully, it's something simple like a faulty pedal switch or clock spring, and the repair cost won't be too bad. I'm estimating around 95€ based on previous repairs.

Interesting... I've got a Fortuner too. Had a similar cruise control problem a while back. I didn't check the fuses or anything technical like you did. Was the check engine light on when your cruise control stopped working?
