Fortuner Passenger Seat Electrical Issue

Passenger electric seat on my 2005 Toyota Fortuner diesel isn't working and shows an error. The car has 97k km. Fuses are fine. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue on my Fortuner. Check the battery first. A heavily discharged or defective battery can cause weird electrical issues, including problems with the electric seats. How old is your battery?

Thanks! The battery is around 5 years old. Could that really stop the seat? Can I check the battery myself before replacing it?

A weak battery can cause the seat motor to fail due to insufficient power. It happened to me like that. Use a multimeter to check the voltage, but at 5 years old, it's probably on its way out. Get it checked by a professional. The error message could be something else, so a workshop visit is recommended.

Thanks! It was the battery. They replaced it, and the seat is working now. The repair cost was 290€, including the battery and labor.
